Domaine Christophe Billon

La Brocarde

One of the greatest expressions of Côte Rôtie, this full-bodied, unctuous single vineyard wine fills that palate with ripe black fruits and floral notes. The long finish of this highly concentrated wine is supported by bold and silky, fine-grained tannins that can be either enjoyed right now or aged for years to come.
Vintage

Description

This bold, tannic and full-bodied single vineyard blend of Syrah (97%) and Viognier (3%) is one of the greatest expressions of the Côte Brune slopes of Côte Rôtie. Behind this power lies a foundation of vibrant acidity with notes of blackberries, black pepper, cassis and a touch of dried flowers, notably violets. With an unctuous mouthfeel, enrobing texture and a long finish, this wine has the potential to withstand substantial aging.

Grapes are 100% destemmed before fermentation and spend 26 months in new 228-litre French barrels. Côte Rozier is capable of long-term aging and only 2200 bottles are produced each year.
